Islamabad, May 31, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest Islamabad weather update for Sunday, June 1, 2025.
According to the PMD, residents of Islamabad and surrounding areas can expect hot and dry weather conditions throughout the day. However, there is a chance of partly cloudy skies during the daytime, offering slight relief from the heat.
For the night of Saturday, May 31, 2025, the PMD forecast indicates partly cloudy weather in Islamabad with the possibility of rain, wind, or a thunderstorm. There is a 30% probability of precipitation during the night in the capital and nearby regions, as per the Islamabad weather update.
Nationally, the weather is being influenced by a westerly wave currently affecting the upper parts of the country. This weather system is expected to move northeastward over the next 12 to 18 hours. Due to this, isolated areas in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience rain-wind or thunderstorms.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the overall national forecast suggests predominantly hot and dry conditions across most parts of Pakistan. In the plains, the weather will be particularly intense, with very high temperatures expected. However, there remains a slight chance of partly cloudy conditions with rain-wind or thunderstorms at isolated spots in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas.
The past 24 hours saw active weather in parts of the country, including Islamabad. Rain-wind and thunderstorms were recorded in the capital, Potohar region, Northeast Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rainfall in Islamabad included 10mm in Saidpur and Golra, 8mm in the city and Bokra, and 6mm at the airport.
The Islamabad weather update reflects seasonal patterns as summer intensifies. As of Saturday, the highest recorded temperatures in Pakistan reached 48°C in Jacobabad and Dadu, with 47°C in Larkana, Mohenjodaro, Turbat, and Shaheed Benazirabad.
