Islamabad, June 4, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the latest weather update for Islamabad, indicating that hot and dry conditions are expected to continue in the capital on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Residents of Islamabad should be prepared for high temperatures and partly cloudy skies throughout the day.

According to the PMD, the Islamabad weather update predicts mostly dry conditions with minimal chances of rainfall. However, some areas around the city may experience patchy cloud cover during the daytime. For Wednesday night, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy and dry in Islamabad and surrounding areas.

On a national scale, the PMD reports that continental air is prevailing over most regions of the country, while a shallow westerly wave is present over Kashmir and is moving northeastwards. This system is influencing upper parts of the country, bringing a slight chance of rain in certain hilly areas.

Wednesday’s Weather Overview:

Across Pakistan, the weather remained mostly hot and dry. However, light rain-wind/thunderstorms were observed at isolated locations in parts of Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Pothohar region, including Islamabad. According to the PMD’s Islamabad weather update, the capital received light rain measuring 6mm at the airport station.

Thursday’s Forecast:

The Islamabad weather update for Thursday forecasts a continuation of hot and dry conditions. However, partly cloudy weather is expected, and some areas in northern and central Pakistan, including parts of Punjab and Balochistan, may experience isolated thunderstorms or light rain.

Rainfall during the past 24 hours was recorded at several stations, including:

• Kashmir: Rawalakot 21mm, Muzaffarabad 10mm, Kotli 3mm

• KP: Kakul 17mm, Saidu Sharif 13mm

• Punjab: Attock 12mm, Murree 10mm, Islamabad 6mm

• Gilgit-Baltistan: Skardu 7mm

The highest temperatures recorded today were: Sibbi 47°C, Shaheed Benazirabad 45°C, Turbat and Dadu 44°C.
