Islamabad, August 27, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast isolated thundershowers for Islamabad on Thursday night, bringing a welcome change to the recent spell of hot and humid conditions in the capital city.

Weather Forecast for Islamabad

According to PMD, Islamabad is likely to experience partly cloudy and humid weather with chances of isolated thundershowers during the night hours of August 28, with a 40% probability. On Wednesday, the weather will remain partly cloudy with a 30% chance of light drizzle at isolated locations in and around the city.

National Weather Outlook

• Wednesday – Hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan. However, rain-wind/thundershowers may occur in northeast Punjab and Kashmir, while isolated showers are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and central to southern Punjab.

• Thursday – Hot and humid weather will persist across much of the country, but rain-wind/thundershowers are expected in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Pothohar region, including Islamabad, during the evening or night hours.

Recent Weather Activity

In the past 24 hours, widespread rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in northeast Punjab, while isolated rainfall was recorded in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Sialkot experienced extremely heavy rain, with city areas receiving 364 mm and the airport 198 mm.
