The comedic take on the cult-classic Anaconda, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd, has officially crossed $100 million at the global box office, marking a significant milestone for the film. Half of the revenue came from domestic sales, while the other half was generated from international markets. Made on a $45 million budget, the figures indicate the movie is now profitable.

The film is a fresh comedic reinterpretation, not a direct reboot of the 1997 horror classic featuring Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and others. According to the official logline, the story follows a film crew whose midlife crises lead them deep into the Amazon to shoot a movie. Chaos ensues when a giant anaconda appears, turning their comical set into a dangerous adventure.

While the movie has delighted audiences, the production came with personal challenges for the stars. Paul Rudd, who plays Griffin Jr., revealed that shooting in Australia away from family for months was not easy. “We were away from our families for months on end, and what a treat it is to hang and work with people you really care about,” he told People.

Jack Black echoed similar sentiments, saying, “If I could freeze time, I would, so that I could have and not miss any of my family time. But when I go off on movie adventures, it’s part of the job.” He added, “Lots of families deal with separation, and it sucks, but it’s also a great opportunity.”

With its blend of comedy, adventure, and nods to the original, Anaconda has struck a chord with audiences worldwide, cementing its place as a box-office hit.
