Fans of the hit DC series Peacemaker were surprised to learn that creator James Gunn secretly appeared in the finale of season two — a detail that went unnoticed by many viewers at first.
The revelation came after an eagle-eyed fan spotted Gunn’s brief cameo and shared it on social media, sparking excitement among the show’s followers.
Speaking on Peacemaker: The Official Podcast, Gunn confirmed the fun Easter egg was entirely his idea. “I just said, ‘Come on, guys. Let’s all come out,’” Gunn shared. “The whole crew — a lot of our PAs and everyone — joined in, and we were all just dancing around. It was a blast.”
The filmmaker also revealed that he had once hoped to include a Deadpool cameo in Peacemaker season two. “Yeah, I wanted them to open the door and see Deadpool in a room,” Gunn said, adding that he even spoke with Ryan Reynolds about the idea. However, due to legal and studio restrictions between Marvel and DC, the crossover didn’t materialize despite both sides being open to it.
Currently streaming on HBO Max, Peacemaker season two continues to expand the DC Universe with its mix of humor, action, and emotional storytelling. With Gunn’s creative touch and the show’s growing fanbase, Peacemaker remains one of the most talked-about superhero series on television.
