Islamabad, December 16, 2025 — Jazz hosted a special cybersecurity awareness session during Cybersecurity Awareness Week 2025, reinforcing its commitment to digital safety and promoting responsible online practices across Pakistan.
The session brought together senior leadership, employees, and national regulators to emphasize the growing importance of cybersecurity in an increasingly connected digital landscape. Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at Jazz, opened the session by highlighting the evolving cyber threat environment and the shared responsibility of organizations like Jazz in protecting digital spaces.
Brigadier Dr. Mukarram, Director General of Cyber Vigilance at the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), stressed the need for proactive awareness, robust institutional frameworks, and coordinated stakeholder efforts to combat emerging cyber risks, including deepfakes and AI-generated personas. He noted that the telecom sector, a significant part of Pakistan’s cyberspace, remains among the most secure sectors.
Jazz leadership underlined the importance of cybersecurity in safeguarding customer data, critical infrastructure, and empowering employees to operate securely in today’s dynamic digital environment. The session, attended by employees from across the organization, reflected Jazz’s company-wide focus on enhancing cybersecurity awareness.
Closing remarks by Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at Jazz, highlighted the integration of security-by-design principles into technology and operations, rather than focusing solely on network expansion. The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the speakers and stakeholders.
Cybersecurity awareness remains central to Jazz’s strategy, with leadership and regulator collaboration fostering a vigilant and empowered workforce to strengthen Pakistan’s digital resilience.
