JazzCash has implemented a new regulation requiring biometric verification for all cash deposit and withdrawal transactions conducted through agents.
This move follows updated directives from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), which came into effect on July 1, 2025.
According to the updated policy, any customer who wishes to deposit or withdraw money via a JazzCash agent must now undergo biometric verification. The step is aimed at enhancing the security of transactions and ensuring compliance with SBP’s financial safety standards.
However, it’s important to note that this biometric requirement is only applicable to transactions carried out through JazzCash agents. It does not apply to services conducted at JazzCash Business or Service Centers, Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL) branches, or through digital services such as mobile top-ups, bill payments, or online transfers.
What Transactions Require Biometric Verification?
Transaction Type | Biometric Required? |
Cash Withdrawal (via Agent) | Yes |
Cash Deposit (via Agent) | Yes |
Bill Payments (Digital) | No |
Mobile Top-ups | No |
JazzCash Business Centers | No |
MMBL Branch Services | No |
Customers are advised to visit their nearest JazzCash Service Center or contact the helpline for more information regarding the new biometric verification process.
This initiative marks another step in JazzCash’s commitment to safeguarding user transactions and aligning with the State Bank’s evolving regulatory framework. With biometric verification, the company aims to reduce the risk of fraud and unauthorized access to customer funds, while continuing to offer secure and convenient mobile financial services across Pakistan.
