Karachi, February 16, 2026 – Pakistan’s leading digital connectivity provider JazzWorld and the Universal Service Fund (USF) have signed an agreement to launch the Badin Project, a major initiative aimed at expanding mobile voice and broadband services in underserved areas of District Badin, Sindh.

The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held in Karachi, attended by Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori and Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima as chief guests. The project marks another milestone in the joint efforts of JazzWorld and USF to strengthen telecom infrastructure and promote inclusive digital access across the country.

With a total investment of Rs668 million, the Badin Project will deploy 45 new telecom sites and upgrade four existing ones, significantly improving network coverage in the district. The initiative is expected to extend reliable voice and high-speed mobile broadband services to 144 unserved and underserved mauzas, benefiting an estimated 0.43 million people.

The expanded connectivity will enable access to essential digital services, including mobile banking, e-learning, tele-health, and government e-services. It will also support small businesses and farmers by providing better digital tools, improving productivity, and opening new market opportunities. Additionally, the project will generate direct and indirect employment during both deployment and operational phases.

Aamir Ibrahim, CEO JazzWorld, said connectivity is fundamental to inclusive growth and praised the continued collaboration with USF and the Ministry of IT and Telecom. He emphasized that the project reflects a shared commitment to ensuring equitable digital access for all Pakistanis.

Chaudhry Mudassar Naveed, CEO USF, highlighted that the initiative would help bridge the digital divide, foster socio-economic development, and create new opportunities at the grassroots level.

The Badin Project builds on the long-standing partnership between JazzWorld and USF to expand digital connectivity nationwide, supporting Pakistan’s broader digital transformation agenda.
