JazzWorld reduces corporate SMS charges and provides digital integration support for the government’s targeted fuel relief programme.
ISLAMABAD: JazzWorld has announced a nearly 66 per cent reduction in corporate SMS rates to support the Government of Pakistan’s Targeted Fuel Subsidy initiative, which aims to provide relief to eligible citizens through a digitally enabled mechanism.
The initiative is intended to ease the financial burden on lower-income and working households affected by rising fuel prices while ensuring that subsidy distribution remains transparent and accessible.
JazzWorld reduces SMS charges for subsidy programme
JazzWorld said it had specifically reduced its corporate SMS charges for the programme and facilitated the required short-code provisioning on an urgent basis to support the timely rollout of the government initiative.
The company has also offered complementary integration support through its digital ecosystem, including SIMOSA and JazzCash, to improve accessibility and provide eligible citizens with a seamless digital experience.
Support for complaint management centre
As part of its contribution to the programme, JazzWorld is providing resources to the complaint management centre being established by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.
The telecom operator will also use its digital channels to help address customer queries and provide information related to the fuel subsidy programme.
JazzWorld said the measures reflected its commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to implement the Targeted Fuel Subsidy initiative effectively.
The company added that its connectivity infrastructure and digital ecosystem would help make the programme more accessible, efficient and responsive for citizens.
Targeted relief amid higher fuel prices
The targeted relief scheme comes as the government seeks to cushion vulnerable sections of society from the impact of higher petrol prices amid volatility in international oil markets and heightened tensions in the Middle East.
JazzWorld’s reduced SMS rates and digital support are expected to facilitate communication and access to the subsidy mechanism as the government rolls out the targeted assistance programme.
