Jennifer Garner battles parenting woes, business dreams take flight

Jennifer Garner is facing the emotional complexities of parenting, and her recent public appearance shed light on the challenges she’s navigating—particularly after a highly publicized disagreement with her daughter, Violet Affleck.

Garner, 53, has recently managed to distance herself from persistent rumors linking her to ex-husband Ben Affleck following his split from Jennifer Lopez. With the spotlight shifting away from her personal entanglements, the Elektra and 13 Going on 30 star is now focusing on her professional passions—most notably her organic children’s food brand, Once Upon a Farm.

During a candid media event on Thursday, Jennifer Garner participated in a rapid-fire Q&A segment where she was asked which was more difficult: “raising kids or raising capital?” Without skipping a beat, Garner replied, “Kids!” Her business partner and CEO of Once Upon a Farm, John Foraker, echoed her sentiment, adding, “Kids, absolutely.”

The timing of her comments comes shortly after Violet Affleck’s essay in the Yale Global Health Review—published May 18—sparked attention. In the piece, Violet recounted a heated argument she had with her mother, Jennifer Garner, while they were staying in “luxury accommodations” during the LA wildfires earlier in 2025.

Garner, who is currently dating John Miller, spoke openly about one specific parenting challenge she faced early on—making baby food. “I had made my kids baby food. I did not like that process. I love to cook; I do not like to make baby food. It’s very confusing,” Jennifer Garner admitted.

This personal struggle became the inspiration behind her collaboration with Foraker to launch Once Upon a Farm. Through this venture, Garner hopes to provide parents with healthier, easier food choices for their children.

Despite the ups and downs of motherhood, Jennifer Garner continues to navigate it with honesty, grace, and entrepreneurial spirit—keeping her priorities firmly rooted in both her family and her career.
