Jennifer Lawrence extended a surprise professional offer to Ariana Grande after the two crossed paths at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, sparking buzz about a potential collaboration tied to an upcoming Miss Piggy film.
Grande addressed rumors about her involvement in the project while speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the Golden Globes red carpet. When asked whether she might appear in the much-talked-about Miss Piggy movie, the pop superstar and Wicked: For Good actress responded enthusiastically, saying, “I mean, I am open! I am a big fan of The Muppets.”
Although Lawrence later clarified that the rumor of Grande already being cast was untrue, the Oscar-winning actress made it clear that the door is wide open. Lawrence, who is co-producing the Disney-backed film alongside her close friend Emma Stone, publicly invited Grande to join the project.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Hunger Games star said, “If she wants to be in the movie, I would love for her to be in the movie—please be in Miss Piggy!” The film, centered on the iconic Muppets diva, was officially announced in November.
Lawrence and Stone are both expected to have roles in the film, though they have confirmed that neither will portray Miss Piggy. Lawrence also joked about finally collaborating with Stone, saying it was “f***ed up” they hadn’t made a movie together yet.
Meanwhile, Grande earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Golden Globes, while Lawrence missed out on a nomination for Die My Love despite strong critical praise.
