Red Sea Film Festival, Saudi Arabia – December 5, 2025 – Actress Jessica Alba candidly spoke about her experience filming intimate scenes in the 2005 superhero movie Fantastic Four during a recent interview at the Red Sea Film Festival, describing it as “humiliating,” according to the New York Post.

The 44-year-old star revealed, “I thought that was awful. It was very humiliating in real life,” sharing the personal challenges she faced while portraying Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman.

Alba Reflects on Her Role and Personal Values

Alba explained that growing up in a conservative family made the scenes particularly difficult for her. “I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days,” she admitted, emphasizing her modesty and the emotional toll of filming such moments.

Despite the challenges, Alba expressed admiration for her character, calling Sue Storm a role model for women. “She was very maternal and very kind, but also not a pushover; she spoke her mind. She had a great moral compass,” Alba said. She added, “No matter who you are, you can look up to her. Oftentimes, the women in these stories need to be saved by a guy or the villain… This was back then. It’s different now.”

The ‘Fantastic Four’ Cast

In the film, Alba starred alongside Julian McMahon as Dr. Doom, Michael Chiklis as The Thing, Chris Evans as The Human Torch, and Ioan Gruffudd as Mister Fantastic. The movie remains a notable part of Alba’s career, highlighting her ability to balance vulnerability and strength on screen.

Alba’s reflections shed light on the evolution of female roles in superhero films, underscoring how characters like Sue Storm paved the way for stronger, more independent portrayals of women in modern cinema.
