Justin Baldoni legal battle with his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, has intensified after new details emerged. On February 1,
Baldoni made public a string of text exchanges between him and Reynolds, revealing the actor’s supportive words amidst the ongoing legal conflict. The text messages were shared on Baldoni’s newly launched website, thelawsuitinfo.com, which also includes a 224-page complaint and downloadable documents titled “Amended Complaint” and “Timeline of Relevant Events.”
In one of the texts, Reynolds, 48, described Baldoni, 41, as a “stand-up person,” acknowledging the director’s positive attributes and contributions. This message came during a difficult time for Reynolds, who mentioned that his daughters were unwell and that he had been immersed in a “writing cave.” Despite these personal challenges, Reynolds expressed his appreciation for Baldoni’s support and collaboration.
Reynolds’ message read, “What a loving and generous message. Thank you. We’re both looking forward to getting to know you and your family better. We’re also big fans over here. Since before we met and more so after.” He continued, “You’ve been a wonderful collaborator with B and that means a great deal—to both of us. Being a stand-up person is everything. And you’ve been just that since day one. Thank you.”
Reynolds also took the opportunity to praise his wife, Blake Lively, 37, in his message to Baldoni. He acknowledged that Lively is selective with the projects she chooses, and revealed, “You’ve hit the jackpot with B. She literally passes on every film and every filmmaker all the time. But one thing I know — and I speak from a deep wellspring of experience here, having her in your court behind the scenes, as a creative, is invaluable.” Reynolds emphasized how Lively’s creative influence had been a key factor in some of his best career decisions.
In an unexpected turn, Reynolds also requested a two-week delay in the It Ends With Us film production to reunite with his family. He humorously added, “We’re hardwired for keeping our family together, it’s how to win us, and it’s also how to kill us when we can’t.” He even joked about taking extreme measures to speed up production, mentioning the possibility of getting a producer’s face tattooed on his body if it helped.
The legal dispute began in December 2024 when Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the film set. Baldoni has firmly denied these allegations, and his legal team, led by lawyer Bryan Freedman, has promised to present evidence to refute Lively’s claims. The newly launched website is a part of Baldoni’s defense strategy, which will provide transparency by sharing all relevant correspondence and videos.
As the legal proceedings unfold, both Baldoni and Reynolds appear to maintain a cordial relationship despite the tension surrounding the lawsuit, offering an intriguing contrast to the ongoing public dispute.
