Justin Baldoni secures a legal victory in his ongoing court battle amid Blake Lively’s lawsuit, marking a significant development in the high-profile dispute.
Blake Lively had sought access to the phone records of her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, as part of their legal confrontation. However, on Friday, February 28th, the judge partially denied her request, granting only limited access to the subpoenaed records.
According to Us Weekly, the court’s ruling permitted Lively to review phone records of individuals not directly involved in the case but rejected her appeal to obtain more than two years’ worth of Justin Baldoni’s personal records.
Following the ruling, Justin Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. He stated, “The Court put a stop to Ms. Lively’s egregious attempt to invade our clients’ privacy. This is a big win.”
Freedman further elaborated, asserting, “No matter how the Lively Parties may try to spin this decision, the Court saw their efforts for what they really are: a desperate fishing expedition intended to salvage their debunked claims long after they already savaged our clients’ reputations in the New York Times.”
In response, a representative for Blake Lively questioned the ruling and the actions of Justin Baldoni’s legal team. “What is Bryan Freedman hiding? After promising to release all the ‘receipts,’ Freedman ran into court to keep secret the phone records of who Baldoni, Heath, Sarowitz, Nathan, Wallace, and Abel were calling during their retaliatory campaign.”
The spokesperson further outlined their next legal steps, stating, “So, instead of getting these records from the phone carriers the way we initially requested, the judge has ruled that if we simply submit more specific requests, we will be able to get the records we are seeking. Today we will do that, we are submitting those requests directly to defendants involved and we look forward to seeing the records.”
As the legal battle continues, Justin Baldoni remains a central figure in the dispute, with both parties preparing for the next phase of the case. His recent court win, however, signals a potential shift in momentum in his favor.
