Karachi, December 26, 2025 — K-Electric, the leading power utility company in Pakistan, has successfully obtained a court stay order to prevent harassment and protect its operations and officials from unwarranted actions.
According to an official disclosure shared with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, this development is linked to Civil Suit No. 111 of 2023 filed by K-Electric for damages against Syed Asad Ali Shah. The case, which was transferred to the Civil Court, follows previous disclosures made by the company on December 9 and December 10, 2025.
K-Electric had expressed concerns over the court order dated December 2, 2025, which prompted the company to file an appeal before the District Court. The appellate hearing took place on December 19, 2025, during which the court suspended the operation of the December 2 order. Consequently, the earlier stay order in favor of K-Electric was reinstated.
The stay order specifically restrains the defendant from harassing the company in any manner. This includes prohibiting the issuance of letters or emails, making public statements or allegations through social media, communicating with third parties to malign the company, or creating media platforms to target K-Electric and its officials.
K-Electric confirmed that the statement regarding the court’s decision has been duly signed and authorized by the company’s officials to ensure compliance and maintain transparency with stakeholders. The company emphasized that it remains committed to safeguarding its operations and upholding the rights of its management against any form of harassment or defamation.
This court decision provides K-Electric with legal protection while the matter continues through the judicial process, ensuring operational stability and security for the company’s personnel.
