Karachi, September 29, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an alert that Karachi is expected to experience a thunderstorm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The commercial hub of the country has been facing extremely hot conditions, and a change in weather is likely to bring relief to residents.

According to PMD, hot and dry weather will dominate most districts of Sindh on Monday, though partly cloudy skies with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorm may occur in Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Mithi, Sujawal, Thatta, and Karachi. On Tuesday, similar hot and dry conditions will persist across the province, but Karachi and surrounding areas remain under the forecast for thunderstorms and scattered rainfall.

At the national level, PMD reported that continental air is prevailing across much of Pakistan, keeping the overall weather pattern hot and dry. However, southeastern Sindh is expected to witness a shift, with localized thunderstorm activity on Tuesday.

During the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed over most of the country. The highest recorded temperatures included Turbat at 43°C, Chhor at 42°C, and 41°C in Bhakkar, Sibbi, and Shaheed Benazirabad.

Authorities have advised citizens in Karachi to remain alert and prepared for sudden changes in weather, as thunderstorms may affect normal routines, traffic flow, and power supply in some areas.
