Karachi Inter-District Cricket Tournament Begins Today

Cricket fever returns to the port city as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launches the much-anticipated Regional Inter-District Senior Cricket Tournament (Karachi Region) today.

Running from June 27 to July 29, this tournament offers a powerful platform for regional cricketing talent to shine and stake their claim in the national spotlight.

Organized by the PCB, the tournament brings together seven competitive zonal teams, each handpicked through rigorous trials and finalized by dedicated head coaches, zonal coaches, and zone presidents.

Every zone’s squad includes main players and strategic standbys, creating depth and flexibility as they gear up for a month of high-stakes matches across Karachi.

Star-Studded Zones to Watch:

Zone-I, coached by Owais Ahmed Rehmani, fields standouts like Alman Shafiq and Farman Ahmed.

Zone-II, under Naeem Tayab, includes experienced campaigners such as Tariq Bakht and Shahid Ali.

Zone-III, led by Irfan Uddin, features Shahzar Muhammad and Sami Afridi.

Zone-IV, guided by Wajid Ali, boasts Yasir Mushtaq and Arsalan Farzand.

Zone-V, with Faraz Ahmed Khan at the helm, showcases Syed Shah Raza and Muhammad Hussain.

Zone-VI, coached by Saeed Bin Nasir, highlights Arbaz Khan and Habibullah.

Zone-VII, led by Tahir Mehmood, brings in Huzaifa Munir and Ghani Subhan.

The tournament kicks off with three thrilling matches from June 27–29: Zone-I vs Zone-III at KCCA Stadium, Zone-II vs Zone-IV at Baqai Cricket Ground, and Zone-V vs Zone-VII at UBL Sports Complex.

Matches will continue throughout July at top venues including NBP Sports Complex, KCCA Stadium, and UBL Sports Complex, with group stage fixtures concluding from July 27–29.

More than just a competition, this tournament is a strategic initiative by the PCB to promote grassroots cricket, build regional strength, and discover the next generation of cricket stars.
