Pakistan Super League

LAHORE, April 23, 2026 – A commanding performance from David Warner and a late onslaught by Khushdil Shah propelled Karachi Kings to a five-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars in a high-scoring Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 clash at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a challenging 200-run target, Karachi Kings completed the run chase with five wickets down and eight balls to spare, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the tournament.

The Kings endured an early setback when Jason Roy fell cheaply for nine runs in the second over, leaving the visitors struggling at 10/1. However, skipper Warner anchored the innings with composure, stitching together useful partnerships with Reeza Hendricks and Salman Ali Agha to steady the chase.

Momentum shifted decisively when Warner combined with Moeen Ali for a rapid 58-run stand. Moeen played an aggressive knock, scoring 39 off just 17 balls, including four sixes, before being dismissed by Ubaid Shah. Karachi soon lost Azam Khan for 14, putting pressure back on the batting side.

The turning point came with Khushdil Shah’s explosive cameo. Walking in at a crucial stage, he unleashed a flurry of boundaries, notably smashing 23 runs in the 18th over bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi. With 11 runs required off the final two overs, Khushdil sealed the victory by hitting back-to-back sixes off Haris Rauf.

Khushdil remained unbeaten on 44 off 14 balls, while Warner top-scored with an unbeaten 63 off 44 deliveries, guiding his side home. Khushdil was later named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars posted a competitive 199/6 after being put in to bat. A strong partnership between Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique anchored their innings following an early run-out. Despite the solid total, Karachi’s balanced chase and late acceleration proved decisive.

The win strengthens Karachi Kings’ position in the PSL standings, while Lahore Qalandars face mounting pressure as the tournament approaches its business end.
