Karachi Port reports active shipping movement, handles over 201,000 MT cargo

Karachi, February 24, 2026 – The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) released its daily shipping movement report for Tuesday, highlighting active vessel operations and robust cargo handling at Pakistan’s largest seaport. The report, updated at 7:00 AM, covers vessel movements and cargo turnover for the past 24 hours.

According to the KPT, several vessels berthing at Karachi Port included Golden Denise and Marine Ista (tankers), along with container ships XIN FU Zhou and Kota Santos. During the same period, vessels WAN HAI 316 and CMB Teniers departed from the port, while several ships are scheduled to sail later on February 24, including Paliki, KMTC Colombo, X-Press Phoenix, GFS Genesis, and OOCL Jakarta.

The port also expects the arrival of key vessels carrying diverse cargo, such as Chem Leona with 17,000 tons of ethanol, Ruici Sapphire with 17,600 tons of chemicals, and several container vessels including MSC Busan, Carl Schulte, and MSC Emanuela. Other arrivals include Hosun carrying 2,500 tons of rice, Boonya Naree with 20,000 tons of cement, and Seamec Gallant, expected on February 25, with 27,500 tons of fertilizer.

Cargo handling at Karachi Port remained strong, with a total of 201,355 metric tons processed in 24 hours. This included 108,055 MT of imports and 93,300 MT of exports. Major commodities handled were containerized cargo (106,459 MT), liquid cargo (47,660 MT), clinker (34,081 MT), canola (6,795 MT), cement (3,006 MT), and soya bean seeds (2,834 MT), reflecting the port’s continued role as a critical trade hub.

Port authorities noted that high activity across import, export, and liquid bulk cargo indicates steady trade flows, emphasizing Karachi Port’s operational efficiency and strategic importance to Pakistan’s maritime logistics.
