Karachi Port Reports Shipping Movements for March 20, 2024

Karachi, March 20, 2024 – The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has released the shipping movement data for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, to facilitate stakeholders and provide an overview of the port’s activities.

According to the report, the following ships berthed at Karachi Port Trust (KPT) during the last hours, ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday:

• Xin Ningbo Container Ship

• X-Press Salween Container Ship

• Ningbo Express Container Ship

• Ince Anadolu Wheat

• XT Prosperity Tanker

Additionally, several ships sailed from the port during the same period, including:

• M.T Mardan

• Seapower II

• Oscar 1

• Yangze 8

• Blue Phoenix

Expected sailing dates for some vessels were also provided, with Dolce Vita, One Martrix, and Ningbo Express scheduled to sail on March 20, 2024.

In terms of expected arrivals, several vessels are anticipated at Karachi Port on March 20 and 21, 2024, carrying various cargoes such as containers, clinkers, base oil, and general cargo. Among these are SM Tianjin, Vancover, Trans Spring, Hakuba Galaxy, ESL NHAVA Sheva, NYK VESTA, Star Blessing, Avigator, and Kurobe.

The report further detailed the cargo handling turnover at Karachi Port during the last 24 hours, which closed at 158,997 Metric Tons. Of this total, 35,934 Metric Tons constituted export cargo, while 123,063 Metric Tons were import cargo.

The breakdown of cargo handling by commodity is as follows:

• Containerized Cargo: 89,736 Metric Tons (60,081 Metric Tons import, 29,655 Metric Tons export)

• Break Bulk Cargo: 13,068 Metric Tons (12,868 Metric Tons import, 200 Metric Tons export)

• Cement: 2,144 Metric Tons (export)

• Wheat: 14,114 Metric Tons (import)

• Oil/Liquid Cargo: 39,935 Metric Tons (36,000 Metric Tons import, 3,935 Metric Tons export)
