Karachi set to record coldest night of winter 2026 in next 24 hours

Pakistan Independence Day 76

Karachi, January 10, 2026 – Karachi is expected to witness the lowest temperature of the ongoing winter season over the next 24 hours, as cold and dry weather continues to grip the port city.

According to AccuWeather, the minimum temperature in Karachi may drop to around 7°C on Sunday, marking the coldest night of winter 2026 so far. Weather experts say the sharp dip is due to prevailing continental air and clear skies, which are allowing temperatures to fall significantly during nighttime hours.

The forecast indicates that Saturday will remain generally pleasant with sunny intervals, while nighttime temperatures may fall close to 8°C. On Sunday, residents can expect hazy sunshine during the day, but the mercury is likely to dip further at night, intensifying the winter chill, particularly during early morning hours.

Looking ahead, weather conditions are expected to gradually moderate from Monday onward. Daytime temperatures are forecast to hover between 25°C and 27°C, while nighttime lows may slowly rise from 10°C to 13°C by midweek. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, mostly from northeasterly and westerly directions, with no significant chances of rainfall.

Meteorologists advise citizens, especially children, the old-age, and those with respiratory conditions, to take precautionary measures during early morning and late-night hours. The cold spell, however, is expected to be short-lived, with Karachi likely to return to seasonally mild winter conditions in the coming days.
