Hollywood star Kate Hudson is stepping into a new chapter of self-awareness and empowerment. The Song Sung Blue actress opened up about embracing all sides of her identity — including what she calls her “masculine energy” — during her inspiring speech at Variety’s Power of Women 2025 event in Los Angeles on October 29.
Honored alongside Wanda Sykes, Nicole Scherzinger, Sydney Sweeney, and Jamie Lee Curtis, Hudson delivered a heartfelt message about strength, authenticity, and breaking free from outdated gender expectations.
“I’m a High-Testosterone Woman,” Says Hudson
With humor and honesty, Hudson shared that she has learned more about her body and energy over the years. “I’ve realized I’m a high-testosterone woman,” she said with a laugh. “I know this because I get my hormones checked every six months.”
She explained that this realization helped her understand her drive and determination — qualities often labeled as “masculine.” Hudson said these traits have become an essential part of her power and creativity.
Redefining Feminine Power
“I truly believe that the female brain is designed for connection, for multidimensional thought, for seeing how one thing affects another,” Hudson told the audience. “This, to me, is the essence of feminine power — the ability to interpret.”
The actress went on to describe how her energy pushes her to act when things get stuck. “I come out of the gate like a racehorse,” she said, adding that women are often told to suppress that kind of boldness.
“For generations, women have been told to pull back on their reins — don’t be too loud, too strong, or too ambitious,” Hudson said. “Because if you come out too hot, you’ll be seen as a threat, not an asset. I think that’s bullsh-t.”
Owning Her Strength and Authenticity
Hudson admitted it took years to confidently embrace this side of herself, encouraging women everywhere not to hold back. “Real strength isn’t about overpowering others,” she said. “It’s about knowing when to lead and when to observe — leading with both your head and your heart.”
She also celebrated women’s natural ability to connect, collaborate, and care for others — qualities she believes drive their success in charitable and humanitarian work.
“Embrace Every Part of Yourself”
Ending her speech on an empowering note, Hudson said embracing all aspects of yourself — whether labeled feminine or masculine — is the true definition of power. “I’m finally stepping into mine,” she said to thunderous applause.
Hudson’s message resonated deeply with the audience and quickly went viral online, with fans praising her honesty and strength.
