Princess Kate, 43, is reportedly set to attend the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) next month, according to the Daily Mail. The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards, scheduled for February 16 at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, will mark the Princess of Wales’ red carpet return amid her ongoing recovery from cancer.

The news of Kate’s possible appearance has sparked excitement, as it comes after her absence from last year’s event. In February 2024, Prince William walked the BAFTAs red carpet alone, just a month before Kate publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis. BAFTA holds a special place in the royal family’s patronages, with Prince William serving as President of the organization since 2010.

In a heartfelt video shared in March 2024, Kate disclosed that she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. The Princess of Wales maintained a low profile for much of the year, making only a handful of public appearances. “I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said in the video. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

Despite the challenges, Kate expressed optimism about her recovery. “The path to healing and full recovery is long,” she noted, adding that she planned to gradually resume her public duties.

Prince William, 42, discussed his wife’s recovery during a November 2024 interview with The Times. “I think, hopefully, Catherine will be doing a bit more next year,” he shared. “So, we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up.” Reflecting on 2024, he described it as the most “dreadful” year of his life, citing both Kate’s illness and King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis. “It’s probably been the hardest year in my life,” William admitted.

As she celebrated her 43rd birthday on January 9, Kate’s close friends shared that she’s embracing a positive mindset. “She is looking after herself and is wise to do so,” a friend told People. “She will know when she wakes up if she is well enough or not [to do something].”

Kate’s anticipated appearance at the BAFTAs signals a significant step forward in her journey toward healing and a hopeful return to her royal engagements.
