New plug-in hybrid SUV offers AWD capability, EV-only driving mode, premium comfort features, and advanced technology.
KIA Pakistan has officially introduced the highly anticipated Sorento PHEV AWD in the local market, expanding its hybrid vehicle lineup with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant.
The launch comes after a series of teaser campaigns that generated significant interest among SUV enthusiasts and eco-conscious buyers across the country.
The company has announced that bookings for the new KIA Sorento 1.6L Turbo Plug-in Hybrid AWD are now open.
According to the official announcement, customers can reserve the vehicle with a partial booking amount of Rs3 million.
KIA noted that the final retail price will be communicated later after clarity emerges regarding applicable federal sales tax regulations.
Booking Price Announced
KIA Pakistan revealed that the booking amount for the Sorento PHEV AWD has been fixed at Rs3,000,000. The company stated that the final vehicle price will be officially announced once government tax-related matters are finalized.
Powerful Plug-in Hybrid Performance
The new Sorento PHEV is powered by a SmartStream 1.6-liter Turbo Plug-in Hybrid engine that produces a combined output of 249 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque.
The SUV is equipped with a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing drivers to operate the vehicle in an EV-only mode for improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
KIA has also fitted the vehicle with a 3.3 kW onboard charger, enabling the battery to charge from 15 percent to 95 percent in approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes.
Advanced AWD and Terrain Management
The Sorento PHEV features an Active All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with lock mode and torque distribution display. To improve off-road capability and traction, the SUV offers dedicated Snow, Mud, and Sand terrain modes, making it suitable for diverse driving conditions.
Power is delivered through a 6-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
Premium Comfort and Technology
KIA has equipped the Sorento PHEV with a host of premium features, including a colored Head-Up Display (HUD), a 14-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and cushion extension, and a 10-way power-adjustable front passenger seat.
Additional highlights include an Integrated Memory System for the driver, ventilated front seats, third-row air vents with fan control, and a 12-speaker BOSE premium audio system. The new model also carries exclusive PHEV badging, distinguishing it from other Sorento variants.
