KIA Pakistan teases Sorento PHEV variant with two strong hints

Automaker shares teaser videos highlighting EV/HEV mode and charging port, signaling the arrival of the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid in Pakistan.

KIA Pakistan has sparked excitement among automotive enthusiasts by teasing the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid variant (PHEV) in the local market.

Although the company has not officially disclosed the model name, recent teaser content strongly suggests that the upcoming vehicle is the KIA Sorento PHEV.

The automaker shared two teaser videos across its digital platforms, offering key clues about the identity of the upcoming model.

While KIA has remained tight-lipped regarding detailed specifications and launch timelines, the visuals leave little doubt that the vehicle in question is a plug-in hybrid version of the popular Sorento SUV.

One of the teaser videos prominently displays an illuminated EV/HEV button located on the vehicle’s center console. This feature allows drivers to switch between electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) driving modes, a characteristic commonly associated with plug-in hybrid models.

The placement and design of the control button closely resemble those found in international versions of the KIA Sorento PHEV.

The second teaser provides an even stronger indication of the vehicle’s identity. It showcases a charging port integrated into the rear side of the SUV, confirming that the upcoming model can be externally charged.

The visual also reveals part of the vehicle’s rear quarter panel, window design, and body lines, all of which closely match the styling cues of the KIA Sorento.

The arrival of the Sorento PHEV would mark another significant step in Pakistan’s growing hybrid and electrified vehicle segment.

As consumer demand shifts toward fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly transportation options, automakers are increasingly introducing hybrid and electric models to the local market.

Currently, KIA Pakistan offers the Sorento lineup in conventional and hybrid variants. The addition of a plug-in hybrid version could provide customers with greater fuel savings, lower emissions, and the flexibility of driving short distances purely on electric power.

Industry observers expect KIA Pakistan to reveal complete details, including pricing, specifications, and booking information, in the coming weeks.

Until then, the teaser campaign has successfully generated anticipation for what appears to be the launch of the highly awaited KIA Sorento PHEV in Pakistan.
