New tubeless tyre upgrade enhances convenience and safety for riders, pushing Libre 125 and Libre 150 prices slightly higher.

Royal Power Pakistan has upgraded its popular GPX Libre motorcycle lineup by introducing tubeless tyres on both the Libre CG 125 and Libre CG 150 models.

The new feature comes with an additional cost of Rs5,000, making the motorcycles slightly more expensive than their previous versions.

According to the company, the upgraded motorcycles are now available with factory-fitted tubeless tyres, offering improved riding convenience and enhanced road safety.

The Royal GPX Libre 125 is now available at a special introductory price of Rs330,000, while the Royal GPX Libre 150 carries an introductory price tag of Rs380,000.

Without the tubeless tyre upgrade, the Libre CG 125 is priced at Rs325,000 and the Libre CG 150 at Rs375,000. The introduction of tubeless tyres has therefore resulted in a uniform price increase of Rs5,000 across both variants.

Royal Power Pakistan highlighted that the GPX Libre 150 is powered by a 149cc air-cooled engine and comes equipped with an LED digital speedometer along with a disc-and-drum braking setup. Similarly, the GPX Libre 125 features a 124cc air-cooled engine, an LED digital instrument cluster, and the same advanced braking combination.

Tubeless tyres have become increasingly popular among motorcycle users due to their practical benefits. Unlike traditional tube-type tyres, tubeless tyres can continue to operate even after minor punctures, allowing riders to travel a reasonable distance before losing significant air pressure. They also reduce the risk of sudden tyre blowouts and are generally easier to repair.

The addition of tubeless tyres aligns the GPX Libre series more closely with modern motorcycle trends in Pakistan, where consumers are increasingly looking for better safety features and lower maintenance costs. With urban commuting becoming more demanding, features such as tubeless tyres are gaining importance among daily riders.

Industry observers believe the upgrade could make the GPX Libre range more attractive to buyers seeking a balance between style, performance, and practicality in the growing 125cc and 150cc motorcycle segments.

Is the Rs5,000 Upgrade Worth It?

For Karachi’s road conditions, the answer is largely yes.

A quality tubeless tyre conversion can easily cost between Rs8,000 and Rs15,000 or more in the aftermarket, depending on tyre brand and rim compatibility. In that context, an additional Rs5,000 for factory-fitted tubeless tyres appears reasonable.

However, one could also argue that at prices of Rs325,000–375,000, tubeless tyres should have been standard equipment from the beginning.

Many consumers now consider tubeless tyres a basic safety feature, especially for city riding where potholes, construction zones, and debris are common.

For Karachi roads specifically, tubeless tyres offer a significant advantage because punctures are frequent and roadside repairs can be inconvenient. The ability to maintain air pressure longer after a puncture improves rider safety and reduces the chances of being stranded.

Overall, the Rs5,000 increase is justified from a value perspective, but the feature arguably should have already been included in motorcycles positioned in this price range.
