Kim Kardashian is once again facing criticism after sharing a recent update about her pets on social media, sparking reactions from fans and animal rights advocates.
The 45-year-old socialite posted an Instagram photo of four Pomeranian puppies with the caption, “welcome to the fam,” announcing the newest additions to her growing pet collection. However, the post quickly drew backlash from followers who questioned her approach to pet ownership.
Many users reminded Kardashian of the fate of previous pets, with comments such as, “please adopt from the Humane Society – so many dogs and cats need homes,” and, “They are not accessories. Please treat them with kindness and respect.” Some fans also asked about the four puppies she gifted her children on Christmas, querying, “Where are the other four? What happened to them?”
The criticism comes shortly after the animal rights organization PETA publicly condemned Kardashian for treating pets like accessories rather than adopting from shelters. PETA cofounder Ingrid Newkirk stated, “Puppies are not plushies. Ignoring the homeless animal crisis is inexcusably callous. Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups.”
Despite the public outcry and the previous critique, Kardashian has not responded to the ongoing criticism.
The post has reignited debate over celebrity pet ownership and the importance of adopting animals from shelters rather than buying from breeders, with fans urging public figures to set a positive example for responsible pet care.
