Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has made a heartfelt confession about the emotional turmoil that led to her split from rapper Kanye West.
During an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the American Horror Story actress reflected on how living through Kanye’s mental health struggles deeply affected her personal well-being and family life.
Kim revealed that she was not fully aware of how toxic her relationship with Kanye had become at the time. “When someone has their first mental break, you want to be supportive and help them through it,” she explained, adding that despite her efforts, Kanye was “not willing to make changes,” which made it difficult to sustain the relationship.
The 44-year-old reality star shared that being in a high-profile marriage amplified the pressure and made it harder to leave. “When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to walk away,” Kim said, emphasizing how her four children with Kanye were her main concern.
She admitted that her friends and family had noticed signs of strain in the marriage long before she did. “I got really dissociated. There were times when I stayed quiet just trying to figure it all out,” Kim confessed.
When asked about the final moment that led her to end the marriage, Kim stated, “Once my mental health was affected and I couldn’t parent the way I wanted to, I had to choose to save myself.”
The SKIMS founder concluded by saying she hopes her children will one day understand that her decision to part ways with Kanye West was made out of love and strength.
