Kim Kardashian is stepping into a new role as a villain in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the iconic Bratz franchise.
The 44-year-old entrepreneur and SKIMS founder has reportedly signed on to portray one of the film’s key characters, marking a bold addition to her expanding acting portfolio.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the casting of Kardashian is generating significant buzz among fans of both the reality star and the popular doll line. The project is being produced by Erik Feig and Julia Hammer of Picturestart, along with Jason Larian and Jasmin Larian of MGA Entertainment, the company behind Bratz.
The Bratz brand originally debuted in 2001 with its core characters—Yasmin, Cloe, Jade, and Sasha—who quickly became cultural icons, known for their edgy fashion and fierce independence. The dolls inspired a generation and led to the release of Bratz: The Movie in 2007, which starred Chelsea Kane, Janel Parrish, Nathalia Ramos, Skyler Shaye, Logan Browning, and Chet Hanks.
This new film venture also follows in the footsteps of Kim’s sister, Kylie Jenner, who previously collaborated with Bratz. In August 2023, MGA Entertainment launched the Bratz x Kylie Fashion collection, which featured two collectible dolls inspired by the beauty mogul.
Speaking about the brand’s legacy, MGA Entertainment CEO and founder Isaac Larian previously stated, “Yasmin, Cloe, Jade, and Sasha started it all in 2001, and inspired a generation of kids to navigate their world bravely and with Bratitude.”
Kim Kardashian was last seen on screen in American Horror Story: Delicate, which premiered on September 20, 2023. Her participation in the Bratz film signals a continued interest in exploring diverse entertainment roles beyond reality television.
The live-action Bratz film is expected to revive the franchise with a modern twist, appealing to a new generation of fans while embracing the nostalgia of early 2000s pop culture. A release date for the film has not yet been announced.
