Kim Kardashian is redefining education for her eldest daughter, 12-year-old North West, with a unique homeschooling approach inside the family’s Hidden Hills estate.
Breaking away from traditional classrooms, North’s lessons are centered on curiosity, creativity, and practical learning rather than standard textbooks. The Skims founder explained that her daughter’s personal interests guide her daily schedule.
When North expressed a desire to design hats and jewelry, Kim transformed the idea into a structured class rather than dismissing it as a passing phase. “Watching North engage in creative projects has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience,” Kim shared.
Music also plays a key role in North’s education, providing a way for her to connect with her father, Kanye West, through beat-making and production — activities outside Kim’s expertise but meaningful for co-parenting. Kim emphasized the importance of alignment in guiding North’s growth, especially given her high-profile upbringing.
Despite the nontraditional setup, Kim confirmed that discipline and rules remain a priority. She dismissed claims that she treats North more like a friend than a child, insisting that structure is very much part of the household routine.
Kim’s approach highlights a modern take on parenting, where flexible, interest-driven learning coexists with boundaries and guidance, ensuring North develops skills while enjoying a childhood tailored to her passions.
