Kris Jenner is reportedly furious after discovering details of her past affair in Kim Kardashian’s authorised biography, Citizen Kim, due out on 27 October.

Kris Jenner reportedly “flipped out” after reading an advance copy of her daughter Kim Kardashian’s authorised biography, which revisits her affair with footballer Todd Waterman during her marriage to Robert Kardashian.

The book, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, written by Jonathan Van Meter, is scheduled for release on 27 October. The biography was reportedly developed over five years, drawing on hundreds of hours of interviews with Kim and dozens of her friends, relatives and associates.

According to reports, Kris became upset when she discovered the account of her 1989 affair with Waterman. Her reaction allegedly unfolded in front of her daughter Khloé Kardashian while cameras were recording.

“Why did Kim drag us all into this?” Kris reportedly exclaimed.

Kim is said to have reviewed every page of the biography but requested the removal of only two sentences for safety reasons.

Earlier this month, Kim told fans that she had agreed to collaborate with Van Meter on the book. Although she trusts the writer, she admitted feeling apprehensive because the finished work would not be under her control.

When asked why Kris might dislike the biography, Kim reportedly directed viewers towards The Kardashians, the family’s reality series on Hulu.

The affair is not new information. Kris discussed it in her 2011 memoir, describing it as the “biggest regret” of her life. She also acknowledged the affair during a 2018 appearance on Fox’s OBJECTified.

Kris and Robert Kardashian were married from 1978 until 1991 and had four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé and Rob. Robert died in 2003.
