Lady Gaga apologises to Golloria over Haus Labs Bronzer controversy

Lady Gaga has apologised to beauty influencer Golloria after criticism of Haus Labs’ original bronzer shade range led the brand to rethink its launch.

Lady Gaga has apologised to beauty influencer Golloria, four months after she criticised Haus Labs’ upcoming bronzer over its limited range of shades.

In May, Golloria reviewed the Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil, which was initially set to launch in six shades. While praising Haus Labs’ complexion products overall, she expressed disappointment after testing its three darkest shades and called on the brand to improve the range.

Golloria later said Haus Labs had asked her to remove the review because the product was still under embargo.

On Thursday, Gaga, 40, shared a statement from Haus Labs on Instagram, acknowledging that asking Golloria to remove the post was linked to the embargo. However, she said the way the situation was handled “was wrong” and accepted responsibility.

Gaga also admitted that launching the bronzer with a limited shade range was a mistake, saying Golloria had been treated unkindly.

Following the criticism, Haus Labs paused the launch and worked on expanding the range. Gaga said the company also held internal discussions to help prevent similar issues in future.

“I truly apologise to Golloria and the community for where we fell short,” Gaga wrote, adding, “You were 100% right.”

The bronzer will now launch with 11 shades, designed to cater to a wider range of skin tones.

“We love you, and we are sorry,” Gaga concluded.
