The Grammy and Oscar-winning star begins a new chapter after previously calling motherhood her “next starring role”.

Lady Gaga has entered a new chapter in her life, becoming a mother for the first time with fiancé Michael Polansky.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and actress has welcomed her first child with Polansky, according to reports confirmed by People magazine and Page Six.

The arrival comes around two years after the couple became engaged in April 2024, following a relationship that has increasingly brought together Gaga’s personal and professional lives.

Gaga recalls Polansky’s proposal

Gaga previously revealed that Polansky’s proposal was both romantic and characteristically thoughtful.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel in October 2024, she recalled believing that a proposal could be coming after her birthday had passed.

The couple had gone rock climbing and, after reaching the top and taking photographs, began making their way back towards their room.

During the walk, Polansky asked Gaga whether he could propose before actually getting down on one knee.

Gaga said she immediately gave him her blessing, describing the moment as being very much in keeping with Polansky’s personality.

Polansky’s role in Gaga’s music

The couple’s partnership has also extended into Gaga’s music career.

Polansky received writing credits on Gaga’s 2025 Grammy-winning album Mayhem, as well as on Glamorous Life, which featured on the soundtrack of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Their collaboration has added a professional dimension to a relationship that has increasingly become an important part of Gaga’s life away from the spotlight.

Gaga called motherhood her ‘next starring role’

While Gaga has achieved major success as both a musician and actress, she has previously made it clear that her ambitions extend beyond her career.

During a 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Gaga revealed that motherhood was one of her greatest hopes.

“What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope,” she said.

That wish has now become reality.
