Karachi is set for another spell of hot weather before thunderstorms and rain bring possible relief early next week.
KARACHI: Karachi is experiencing hot weather, with temperatures expected to remain high over the coming days despite forecasts of thunderstorms and rain.
According to online weather forecasting service AccuWeather, the city will experience sunny periods on Saturday, September 12, with a maximum temperature of 35°C and a minimum of 25°C. The RealFeel temperature is expected to reach 38°C, while westerly winds will blow at around 17 kilometres per hour.
The maximum UV index is forecast at 7, indicating a high risk of harm from prolonged exposure to the sun, particularly for sensitive individuals.
Karachi temperature to reach 37°C on Sunday
On Sunday, September 13, temperatures are expected to rise further, reaching 37°C, with a minimum of 27°C.
The weather will remain hot, with long periods of sunshine and breezy conditions expected during the afternoon. The RealFeel temperature could climb to 40°C.
AccuWeather has forecast a 25 per cent chance of rain on Sunday and warned of the risk of dehydration and heatstroke for people remaining outdoors for extended periods.
Thunderstorms likely on Monday
Weather conditions are expected to become more unsettled on Monday, September 14, when the temperature could reach 36°C.
The day is forecast to begin partly sunny before becoming cloudy, with a chance of thunderstorms. The probability of precipitation has been put at 55 per cent.
The expected change in weather could bring some relief from the persistent heat affecting the city.
Temperatures to ease on Tuesday
On Tuesday, September 15, temperatures are expected to fall to around 33°C, with a minimum of 26°C.
The city could see intervals of sunshine and high clouds during the morning, followed by broken cloud cover and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Breezy conditions are also expected, with winds reaching around 22 kilometres per hour.
Rain and precipitation are forecast for around one hour on both Monday and Tuesday, potentially providing temporary relief from Karachi’s hot and humid conditions.
Residents are likely to experience fluctuating weather conditions over the coming days, with high temperatures continuing before thunderstorms and rain bring some respite early next week.
