Islamabad, April 25, 2025 – The city of Lahore is currently experiencing an intense heat wave, with weather experts forecasting extremely high temperatures over the coming weekend.
Residents of the provincial capital of Punjab are being urged to take precautions as very hot weather conditions are expected to persist from Friday through Sunday.
According to AccuWeather, the online weather forecasting service, Lahore’s weather is likely to remain dry and harsh, with daytime highs reaching around 41°C for three consecutive days. The heat, combined with hazy sunshine and low humidity, will significantly increase the risk of heat-related health issues such as dehydration and heatstroke—particularly for those exposed to outdoor conditions for prolonged periods.
On Friday, April 25, temperatures are predicted to reach 41°C during the day, with nighttime lows around 23°C. The RealFeel® temperature, which accounts for humidity, wind, and solar intensity, is expected to climb to 42°C, making the weather feel even more oppressive. Winds from the north at 13 km/h will provide minimal relief.
Similar conditions are expected on Saturday and Sunday, with the weather in Lahore remaining consistently hot. The RealFeel® and RealFeel Shade™ temperatures will continue to hover between 39°C and 42°C, while the UV index is forecasted at an extreme level of 11 throughout the weekend, increasing the risk of sunburn and other heat-related issues for those exposed to direct sunlight.
Local authorities are advising Lahore residents to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of fluids, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, and avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Special warnings have also been issued for vulnerable groups, including the old-age, children, and individuals with existing health conditions.
