Lahore, March 27, 2026 – Lahore Qalandars began their Pakistan Super League season 11 (PSL 11) campaign in commanding fashion, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by 69 runs in the opening match held at Lahore on Thursday.
Batting first, Qalandars posted a formidable total of 199/6 in 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman led the charge with a brisk 53 off 39 balls, while Mohammad Naeem contributed a quickfire 30. Haseebullah Khan anchored the innings with an unbeaten 40, and Sikandar Raza added late impetus with 24 runs from just 10 balls. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi finished the innings in style, smashing 12 runs off two deliveries. Despite wickets from Riley Meredith and Hassan Khan, the Kingsmen struggled to contain Qalandars’ aggressive batting.
In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen faltered early and were bowled out for 130 in 20 overs. Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 26, while no other batter could build a significant innings.
Qalandars’ bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Ubaid Shah, Haris Rauf, and Sikandar Raza claiming two wickets each. Mustafizur Rahman and Shaheen Afridi chipped in with one wicket apiece.
The 69-run victory gives Lahore Qalandars a strong start to their PSL 2026 campaign, setting the tone for the season, while Hyderabad Kingsmen will look to regroup after a disappointing opener.
