Karachi, December 9, 2024: The foreign currency exchange market opened today with updated currency rates, reflecting fluctuations in global market trends and local demand dynamics. Here are the latest buying and selling rates for major currencies in Pakistan.
The US Dollar (USD) currency, a critical benchmark in the foreign exchange market, is being traded at PKR 277.6 for buying and PKR 279.1 for selling. This modest adjustment reflects stable trends in the local currency market amidst ongoing economic developments.
The UK Pound Sterling (GBP) currency has shown strength against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR), with buying and selling rates of PKR 351.5 and PKR 355, respectively. The Euro (EUR) currency also remains strong, trading at PKR 291.55 for buying and PKR 294.3 for selling.
Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and UAE Dirham (AED) maintain steady rates of PKR 73.65 and PKR 75.35 for buying, with selling rates at PKR 74.2 and PKR 76, respectively. The Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) continues to hold its position as the highest-valued currency in the region, trading at PKR 895.5 for buying and PKR 905 for selling.
Asian currencies such as the Chinese Yuan (CNY) and Japanese Yen (JPY) exhibit stable exchange rates. The Yuan is available at PKR 37.99 for buying and PKR 38.39 for selling, while the Yen trades at PKR 1.86 and PKR 1.92.
Meanwhile, the Australian Dollar (AUD) and Canadian Dollar (CAD) are trading at PKR 179 and PKR 198.1 for buying, with selling rates at PKR 181.25 and PKR 200.5, respectively.
The Omani Riyal (OMR) and Bahraini Dinar (BHD), popular among expatriate workers, continue to show steady demand, trading at PKR 718.35 and PKR 733.95 for buying, with selling rates at PKR 726.85 and PKR 741.95.
