Islamabad, January 1, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain in Islamabad on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The weather in the capital is expected to remain cold and partly cloudy, accompanied by light rain or drizzle in Islamabad and its surrounding areas. Foggy conditions may also develop in isolated locations during the early morning hours.
For Wednesday night, the PMD has forecast cold and partly cloudy weather with the possibility of light rain or drizzle in Islamabad and nearby regions. The department added that a frontal weather system is anticipated to move into the western parts of the country later tonight, potentially influencing Islamabad and upper regions of Pakistan until January 6, 2025.

Islamabad is expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather throughout the day. Light rain or drizzle may occur in Islamabad, Pothohar, and nearby areas, while moderate to dense fog will likely persist in most plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. Light rain or snow is also expected in northern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, with Murree and Galiyat possibly receiving light precipitation.

For Islamabad and its surroundings, the PMD anticipates cold and partly cloudy conditions, with a higher likelihood of light rain or drizzle. Rain and snow are forecast for northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas. Some areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience moderate to heavy rain or snow by evening. Dense fog is likely to persist in the plains of Punjab and upper Sindh.
