British singer-songwriter Lily Allen has officially returned to the music scene after a seven-year hiatus with her highly anticipated new album, West End Girl.
Released on Friday, October 24, via BMG, the album marks Allen’s first studio project since her critically acclaimed 2018 record No Shame. Announcing the news on Instagram, the Smile hitmaker wrote, “West End Girl, out now everywhere.”
The comeback has thrilled fans, many of whom have eagerly awaited new music from the English pop star known for her witty lyrics and candid storytelling.
In a recent interview with Perfect magazine, Allen also opened up about her recent breakup with actor David Harbour. Reflecting on her emotional struggles, she said, “I have deep-rooted issues with rejection and abandonment, which I’ve been tussling with for most of my adult life and probably quite a lot of my childhood as well.”
She continued, “It’s hard for me not to have my person. I am quite a codependent person, and I find it difficult to lean on the people who are available to me when I’m missing the comfort and stability of what is not available.”
Allen and the Stranger Things star reportedly ended their marriage earlier this year after five years together, with speculation of infidelity surrounding the split.
With West End Girl, Lily Allen marks a bold new chapter in both her personal and professional life — reaffirming her place as one of Britain’s most honest and relatable voices in music.
