Lori Harvey is stepping further into Hollywood, opening up about her exciting casting in the upcoming third season of Hulu’s hit legal drama Reasonable Doubt.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 28-year-old model – and daughter of comedian and TV host Steve Harvey – shared her thoughts on building her acting career and embracing new opportunities. Lori revealed that her passion for acting dates back to her early teens when she began attending acting camps.
Her official debut came last year with Peacock’s limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, which sparked her determination to pursue acting more seriously. “I’m just at the part in my life now where I really want to focus on it and take [acting] seriously,” Lori explained.
Speaking about her upcoming role, Lori called it “a dream come true,” as she had been an avid fan of Reasonable Doubt since its first season. She also recounted her audition process, which began with a casual Instagram message to creator Raamla Mohamed after a conversation about upcoming projects.
“I DM’ed her and said, ‘Hey, I’m serious about acting. Can we exchange information? I’d love to catch up and grab dinner,’” Lori recalled. “We ended up connecting instantly, which made the entire process feel natural.”
Despite her enthusiasm, Lori faced some backlash online after her casting announcement, with critics questioning her readiness for such a major role. Addressing the negativity, she responded, “I’m a new actress. Everyone has to start somewhere. Honestly, you can’t look at the comments because they just become a cesspool for negativity. It fuels me and drives me even more.”
Reasonable Doubt Season 3 is set to premiere on September 18, 2025, exclusively on Hulu.
