March 5, 2026 – Following the success of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season one, Lucy Boynton has been cast in a key role for season two as Lady Rohanne. The announcement comes as the fantasy series prepares to adapt the second Dunk & Egg book, The Sworn Sword.
New Additions to the Cast
Season two also welcomes:
• Babou Ceesay as Ser Bennis, known for Alien: Earth
• Peter Mullan as Ser Eustace Osgrey, recognized for Ozark
The expanded cast aims to bring fresh dynamics to the upcoming six-episode season while maintaining the high-quality storytelling that earned season one widespread acclaim.
Season One Success
The debut season received strong ratings, with a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Lead performances by Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell were particularly praised. The series is co-created and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker, who also serves as showrunner.
Parker shared insights with The Hollywood Reporter:
“It’ll still be six episodes. I think the scope will be the same, maybe even smaller. The budget has stayed the same, but everything is more expensive due to inflation.”
He added that season two’s story takes place during a drought, requiring filming in sunny locations outside Belfast, which increases production costs.
“I’m having a lot of fun with season two. It’s going to be a different season, and, I hope, for the better.”
Filming and Release
Season two is currently filming in Belfast, and fans can expect a continuation of the gripping political intrigue, swordplay, and world-building that made the first season a hit.
With Lucy Boynton and new cast members joining the fold, season two promises fresh characters, intense storylines, and stunning visuals that align with the high standards set by its debut season.
Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the premiere as the series expands the rich universe of the Seven Kingdoms.
