Hollywood star Margot Robbie has delivered a surprising update about the future of a Barbie sequel, leaving fans curious about what comes next after the global success of her blockbuster film.
In an interview with Stellar Magazine on Sunday, the actress and producer revealed that while Barbie was one of her proudest projects, a sequel is not currently in the works.
“I’ve realised the thing that I get the most satisfaction from in life is things or people reaching their full potential,” Robbie said. “Barbie was a movie that reached its full potential. Like, everything I wanted for it happened. There’s nothing more satisfying than that.”
When asked directly about Barbie 2, Robbie clarified, “There’s nothing right now,” suggesting that fans may have to wait longer — or perhaps never see a follow-up to the record-breaking 2023 release.
Beyond Barbie, Robbie is now focusing on her next major project, a romantic drama titled A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. She praised the script, calling it “exquisite, original, magical, and romantic.”
“I wanted to do a love story, and I would obviously love to do a love story with Colin Farrell,” Robbie added.
The upcoming film, which pairs Robbie with acclaimed Irish actor Colin Farrell, has already generated significant buzz in Hollywood. The duo’s on-screen chemistry is highly anticipated, especially since both actors are celebrated for their versatility and powerful performances.
