Hollywood star Margot Robbie has finally shared her heartfelt thoughts on becoming a mother, nine months after welcoming her first child with husband Tom Ackerley.
The 35-year-old actress, best known for her role in Barbie, spoke candidly about motherhood during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, August 20. She appeared alongside co-star Colin Farrell to promote their upcoming romantic-fantasy film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.
During the conversation, the interviewer mentioned her own experience as a new parent, which prompted Robbie to reflect on her journey since welcoming her son in October 2024. The actress admitted that describing motherhood is often unnecessary to those who already have children, but she emphasized just how rewarding the experience has been.
“Well, you know. It’s like, [when] you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it, and if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear,” Robbie explained. She then added warmly, “So, it’s kind of like, ‘It’s the best,’ you know?”
Robbie’s co-star Colin Farrell also opened up about fatherhood during the interview. Farrell, who shares son James with ex-partner Kim Bordenave and son Henry with ex Alicja Bachleda-Curús, spoke passionately about how becoming a father has shaped his life.
“Oh, my God, it’s meant everything to me. Being a dad?” Farrell said. “They are the most important facet of my life and have been since they came into being. … They’ve taught me so much. Whoever I am today, it’s in great part to do with their involvement.”
Although Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley have not yet revealed the name of their son, the couple has kept their journey into parenthood relatively private. Robbie’s latest comments give fans a rare glimpse into her personal life and her joy in embracing motherhood.
With her thriving career and a new chapter as a mom, Robbie continues to balance Hollywood stardom with her growing family, all while preparing to return to the big screen in her highly anticipated film.
