Karachi, October 17, 2025 – Mari Energies Limited has announced a significant oil and gas discovery in Sindh, Pakistan, marking another milestone in the country’s energy exploration efforts. The discovery was confirmed through a communication submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.
According to the company, the breakthrough occurred at the Mari Ghazij CF-B1 exploration well, situated within the Mari Development and Production Lease (D&PL) area in Sindh province. The well was spud-in on September 12, 2025, and drilled to a total depth of 1,195 meters targeting hydrocarbon-bearing zones within the Ghazij Formation.
During testing, the Mari Ghazij CF-B1 well successfully produced 305 barrels of crude oil per day along with 3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas. The test results were achieved at a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 225 psi on a 48/64-inch choke size, confirming the commercial potential of the newly identified reserves.
Mari Energies Limited (MariEnergies), the operator of Mari D&PL with a 100% working interest, expressed satisfaction over the successful outcome of the drilling campaign. The company stated that the discovery underscores its ongoing commitment to expanding Pakistan’s domestic energy resources and reducing reliance on imported fuels.
This new find is expected to contribute positively to the national energy grid, enhancing local production and supporting Pakistan’s long-term energy security.
