Meezan Bank has approved 6,880 housing finance cases worth approximately Rs49 billion under the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program – Ghar Ho Tu Apna (GHTA) Scheme, as demand for affordable housing finance continues to grow in Pakistan.

As of September 30, 2026, the bank had disbursed financing totalling Rs7.34 billion to 1,000 families under the initiative.

Meezan Bank has received more than 27,800 applications seeking financing of approximately Rs179 billion through its own network and the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) portal, highlighting demand for affordable home ownership.

Of the total applications, 13,474 worth Rs100.7 billion were submitted through the bank’s network, while another 14,397 applications amounting to Rs78.65 billion were received through the PHA network.

The Ghar Ho Tu Apna scheme aims to help Pakistani families access affordable, Shariah-compliant housing finance as part of the government’s broader housing agenda. Meezan Bank’s participation is intended to expand access to Islamic housing finance and support home ownership among a wider segment of the population.

“At Meezan Bank, we believe that Islamic finance can play a meaningful role in making home ownership accessible to a much larger segment of society. Through Ghar Ho Tu Apna, we are committed to working with the Government to transform the aspiration of home ownership into a reality for thousands of Pakistani families,” said Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Group Head Consumer Finance at Meezan Bank.

The bank said it remained committed to expanding affordable home ownership and supporting Pakistan’s housing sector through its nationwide network, Islamic finance expertise and growing housing-finance capabilities.

The number of applications received and cases approved reflects the scale of interest in the programme, while financing disbursed to date indicates the support already extended to participating families.
