Meghan Markle faces new family fallout after claims over contact with her father

Meghan Markle is facing renewed scrutiny as her long-running family feud intensifies, following accusations from her father and half-sister that she misled the public about reaching out during his recent medical emergency.

Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex became embroiled in another public dispute with her father, Thomas Markle, and her half-sister, Samantha Markle—relatives she has been estranged from since they were accused of staging paparazzi photos ahead of her 2018 royal wedding. The latest clash centers on whether Meghan attempted to contact Thomas after news emerged of his leg amputation surgery, with Samantha dismissing Meghan’s claim as a “PR stunt.”

Family Tensions Reignite After Surgery Revelation

The conflict escalated on December 4, when Meghan’s brother disclosed to the Daily Mail that Thomas underwent a three-hour procedure to amputate his left leg due to a blood clot. The following day, Meghan’s spokesperson told Page Six that she had “reached out” to her father.

Samantha swiftly contradicted the statement in a series of fiery posts on X, writing, “Houston there’s been no contact… Time to stop the PR b******* Medusa.” She further argued that if Meghan were genuinely concerned, Thomas would be flown to “one of the best hospitals in the United States.”

Thomas Markle Responds From Hospital Bed

On December 6, Thomas spoke to the Daily Mail from a hospital in the Philippines, saying he was “confused” by reports that Meghan had contacted him. Expressing his desire to mend their relationship, he said, “I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband too.”

The publication also questioned Meghan’s account, noting that her alleged email was sent to an address Thomas has reportedly not used in five years.

Meghan Releases “Receipts” as Conflicting Claims Intensify

A source close to Meghan has disputed those claims, telling GB News that the outreach did occur. The source provided the exact timestamp of the email—11:53 a.m. Pacific Time on December 5—and stated that no bounce-back notice was received, suggesting that the email address may still be active.

The source also said Meghan no longer has Thomas’ current phone number, even though Thomas insists he never changed it “so she could always get in touch.”

To resolve the dispute, Meghan’s team asked the Daily Mail journalist who interviewed Thomas to share the phone number again. The source said Meghan was willing to make direct contact, but lacked the necessary information.

Questions Over Hospital Contact

Reports further indicate that Meghan did not call the hospital directly, with sources saying she does not know where Thomas is being treated. A hospital representative told the Daily Mail, “If Meghan or anyone connected with her had called here, we would’ve known… We would love to see the duchess here in the Philippines!”

As the conflicting accounts continue, the Duchess of Sussex is attempting to keep the record straight while navigating yet another wave of very public family tension.
