Meghan Markle steps back from tell-all memoir plans: report

Meghan Markle has reportedly abandoned plans to write a tell-all memoir, marking a shift in approach as she and her husband Prince Harry prepare for an overseas trip later this month, according to media reports.

The Duchess of Sussex had previously signaled interest in writing a book following the success of Prince Harry’s memoir, which became one of the fastest-selling non-fiction titles and drew significant global attention for its revelations about the royal family.

However, sources cited by entertainment media said the couple are now cautious about pursuing high-profile publishing projects that could reignite tensions with the British royal family. The decision is seen as part of a broader effort to manage public perception and avoid further controversy.

“Meghan and Harry are cautious about everything they do and say to uphold the standards of the monarchy,” a source told OK! Magazine, adding that such projects were not currently aligned with their priorities.

The couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, have since built independent careers in media and publishing. Markle, formerly an actress in the television series Suits, has already released a children’s book titled The Bench in 2021, which received moderate commercial success.

Her reported decision comes amid ongoing speculation about the couple’s relationship with senior members of the royal family. Media reports have suggested that Prince Harry may be open to reconciliation with his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William, though no official confirmation has been made.

Royal observers say any potential memoir from Markle could have added another layer of scrutiny to already strained relations within the family.

The Sussexes have not publicly commented on the reported decision, and it remains unclear whether future publishing projects may still be considered at a later stage.
