While the Royal Family takes the spotlight in London for Trooping the Color, Meghan Markle is preparing for a special evening in California. The Duchess of Sussex will be celebrated at the Night of Wonder gala hosted by the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County on June 14, the same day as King Charles’ official birthday celebrations.
As Prince William, Princess Kate, and King Charles are expected to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the annual RAF fly-past, Meghan will take center stage in Los Angeles. The star-studded gala at Exposition Park will honor her efforts to support women and underserved communities.
“We are proud to honor Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity aligns with our equity-focused approach,” said museum president Lori Bettison-Varga.
Meghan Markle, mother of two and wife of Prince Harry, is expected to deliver a speech during the evening. The event will be attended by many of Los Angeles’ leading cultural and philanthropic figures.
Back in the UK, Trooping the Colour remains a major royal event. Senior members of the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children — George, Charlotte, and Louis — are likely to participate. Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are also expected to attend, although the final list of royals appearing has not been confirmed yet.
While the royal family gathers in London, Meghan Markle continues to build her legacy in the U.S., focusing on causes close to her heart. Her appearance at the gala highlights her growing influence on social impact work, even as she maintains a distance from royal duties abroad.
With both events set to make headlines, June 14 will be a day where the Royal Family and Meghan each shine — on separate stages, but with global attention.
