Apple’s latest Pro model brings the A20 Pro chip, smaller Dynamic Island, larger battery options and a variable-aperture camera system.
Mercantile Pakistan has opened registrations for the Apple iPhone 18 Pro, giving customers in Pakistan an opportunity to register their interest in Apple’s latest professional smartphone.
The iPhone 18 Pro is available in four colour options, including the new Burgundy finish alongside Glacier, Black and Silver. The Glacier variant is among the colours showcased for the latest model.
One of the more noticeable design changes is the smaller Dynamic Island. Apple has also increased its functionality, with the Dynamic Island now capable of displaying up to three live activities simultaneously, compared with two on the previous generation.
Beyond these changes, the overall design and build of the iPhone 18 Pro remain largely similar to the outgoing model.
The smartphone is powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which is designed to deliver improved performance and efficiency. Apple has highlighted a new GPU core and a second neural engine aimed at handling artificial intelligence-related workloads.
The iPhone 18 Pro series also features improvements to its passive cooling system, which could help manage heat during demanding tasks and sustained performance.
Battery capacity has received a modest increase. The physical nanoSIM version features a 4,056mAh battery, while the eSIM-only model comes with a 4,288mAh battery. By comparison, the previous iPhone 17 Pro offered 3,998mAh and 4,252mAh capacities respectively.
Apple has not disclosed exact charging power figures but says the new iPhone offers slightly faster charging than its predecessor.
The camera system also retains the familiar 48MP triple-camera setup, including a 5x telephoto camera. However, the main camera system now introduces a variable aperture ranging from f/1.5 to f/4.0, allowing the aperture to be adjusted depending on shooting conditions.
The impact of the variable aperture on everyday photography will depend on real-world performance and testing. The feature is designed to provide greater control over light entering the camera, potentially offering more flexibility across different lighting scenarios.
