Islamabad, December 30, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainy and cloudy weather in Islamabad on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, as a westerly weather system continues to influence large parts of the country. The outlook is important for residents, travelers, and authorities as weather conditions may affect daily routines and traffic.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday is expected to remain cold and mostly cloudy in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with the possibility of light rain during the night. On Wednesday, weather conditions are likely to intensify, bringing cloudy skies with intermittent rainfall across the federal capital and nearby regions, including the Pothohar plateau.

At the national level, PMD stated that a westerly wave is currently affecting western and upper parts of Pakistan and is expected to strengthen from tonight. This system may persist in the upper regions until January 1, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hilly areas.

On Tuesday, cloudy conditions are likely over most upper and western parts of the country. Isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorms—with snowfall over hills—are expected in northwest and south Balochistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may receive rain during evening or night. Dense fog is likely in parts of Punjab during nighttime.

On Wednesday, rain and thunderstorms are forecast in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, with fog persisting in Punjab and upper Sindh.
